A new beginning .....

Long Dog Samplers has been rather quiet of late for which I apologise.  My husband died last month after a truly magnificent battle against prostate cancer these past five years and now I find myself having to start my life anew without him.

My IT skills are limited to say the least and it's no easy task to find a computer expert who speaks English in the middle of very rural France.  So I've decided to go it alone on a hit and miss basis and start blogging.  The website http://pagesperso-orange.fr/longdog/ still exists with all my designs to date but as everything is passworded and very alien to me, for the time being at least, anything new to tell you about will appear on this blog.

I haven't been idle and there are lots of new designs waiting to be released as and when I can find out how.  For the time being I will leave you with a picture of Geordie in the garden looking imposing.

  1. I'm so sorry for your loss. I do pray you find peace in the coming days and weeks ahead. I have so enjoyed your work, and look forward to your newest designs. I bought the book last year and am working on Scarlet Ribands in a variegated HDF silk with the 3 solid components. It's going to be along the lines of Mouline Rouge which I colored in 4 colors. I'll be checking back to read your new blog.

  2. I'm so sorry about your loss. I watched my father die of prostate cancer when he was (relatively) young. I wish you peace and warm memories to warm your heart and soul. I am happy you have your wonderful garden and your dogs and your wonderful creativity to give you reasons to get up in the morning.

  3. I just found your blog after someone mentioned it on Facebook. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I also lost my husband in September of this year to cancer, but to lung cancer. It's a horrid, horrid disease that takes so much from everyone around. I admire your courage greatly. It's not easy to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep on going. I've always loved your designs and now I feel a sort of connection with you personally. Wishing you all the best in your new journey!
